Art Starts – Jelly Fish Project: Just a reminder that there is a school wide assembly this morning from 9:15-10:30 am. Classes will be called down.
Congratulations to Justin, Raf, Jordan, Liam, Owen, Tyson, Dave, Will, Jennifer, Ben, and James who competed at the Regional Math Competition at Camosun on Friday! It was an impressive showing by all eleven Royal Oak Students. Congrats to Tyson, Raf, Will, James, and Liam who placed in the top ten finishers and Royal Oak Team 1 consisting of Raf, Jordan, Liam, James, and Tyson who finished 2nd overall in the Cooperative Challenge! Royal Oak is very proud!
Only fourteen more school days to get your Grade 8 baby photo in to Miss Cottier for the yearbook! Please be sure to email your adorable baby photo to Miss Cottier no later than March 10th! No late photos will be accepted! Plus! Why not Pre-Order your Yearbook at the same time and guarantee delivery in June! Order forms on the Royal Oak Website and from Miss Cottier in Rm. 222.
Games Club: The Games Club will be meeting in Room 125 at 1:16
Canteen Tuesday: On sale at recess -chocolate chip cookies, smoothies and mac and cheese.
Conversation and Activities Club: Please join us for Conversations Club today in room 227. Meet new friends, learn about other cultures, and practice your English. All Royal Oak students are welcome to join us. Please see Ms. Beristain in room 219 for more information.
This week will be very busy for all volleyball teams. Please go to the ROMS Athletics web page to view the practice schedules, and to lowerislandschoolsports.ca for game schedule for all competitive teams and 7/8 Recreational teams.
Practicing today at SECOND recess are: Mr. Kenny's grade 8 boys Rec team, and the grade 6/7 boys Rec team. Please be there by 1:20 dressed in full PE strip ready to practice.
Playing after school are the grade 8 boys Rec team at SMUS, and the grade 8 boys competitive team at Glanford.
Notice to divisions 8-1, 8-2, 8-7, 8-8 and staff of their intra-mural dodgeball games Wednesday at lunch.
Final notice to any grade 8 boys interested in playing rugby this year. See Mr. Stanchfield at morning recess.

3) Feb 23 the judges will be out checking. The hallway with the cleanest zone goes first for pizza! Get out and clean your zone and be a change maker!

8) The lost and found is huge! If you have lost PE clothing or shoes, you know where to look.

Claremont Counsellor Appointments
Gr 8 Parents wishing to meet with a Claremont Counsellor with questions and concerns regarding academic pathways, course selection and class placement may book an appointment to meet with a Claremont Counsellor on March 1 or March 2 between 8:30 am and noon. **Please note that Claremont Counsellors will be visiting Royal Oak Middle School on February 23 between 9:00 and 11:23 am to hand out Course Selection Forms to Grade 8 students.
Claremont will be hosting a Parent Information Night that evening from 7:00-8:00 pm to discuss the process and provide additional information on course selection and Claremont Sports Institute and Pursuit Of Excellence programs.
