Canteen Thursday: On sale at recess tomorrow -chocolate chip cookies, smoothies, and burritos.
Grade 8 Math Challengers meeting tomorrow at lunch in Miss Cottier's room. Please bring your blue duo-tangs and some questions to review. Please be sure to hand in your permission form for the competition on Feb 17th.
Grade 6 Girls:
The competitive grade 6 girls held their own against some formidable sized grade 7 girls yesterday at Bayside. Taking one set a piece from PCS and Bayside! Well done girls!!
Congratulations to our Royal Oak Volleyball teams on their success so far this week. Our teams are looking good as we head into February and have shown excellent sportsmanship and performance in their matches.
There are no practices later today, as the grade 8 girls are hosting games after school today.
There will be a meeting for the grade 6/7 boys competitive team today at FIRST recess to discuss transportation to the game tomorrow.
Notice to all grade 8's - there will be drop-in dodge ball Wednesday at lunch. Gym strip required.
Basketball Jerseys: Reminder to all grade 8 competitive boys basketball players: Please return your full uniform to Mr. Menzies ASAP.

Welcome to the Month of February We are now 1/2 through the school year with 5 months to go!
1) Today's weather calls for sunny skies again and a high of only 4 degrees. The forecast tells us that we will be having even more sunny skies tomorrow with a cool temperature of 4 degrees again! BBBUUUURRRRRR
Rumour has it there could be snow on Friday!
2) The Royal Oak Open House is tonight! Let's make sure our classrooms and school grounds are clean and tidy for the community to see! If every class could send out a few students to do a clean up of the school grounds that would be wonderful. Remember your assigned zone!
3) Health Fact:
Foods that don't expire contain unnatural preservatives, additives, and chemicals that deteriorate your body. Focus instead on fruits, vegetables, lean meats, whole grains, low-fat dairies, and above all, moderation in whatever you eat.
4) Welcome our new teacher Librarian Mr. Ball who will join us in in two weeks as our new teacher librarian.

Open House: Just a reminder that ROMS is hosting an Open House this evening from 6:30-8:00 pm for incoming students/families from out of district. There will be two information sessions this year; one from 6:30-7:00 pm and 7:15-7:45 pm Families can attend one of the two information sessions.
