Morning Radio News @ 9:05 am

Games Club: The Games Club will be meeting in Room 125 at 1:16 pm.

Canteen: There will be no Canteen sales tomorrow.

Conversation and Activities Club:
Attention all students from other countries and who speak other languages:  Come out every Monday to room 227 for conversation, games, and snacks!  Meet new friends, learn about other cultures, and practice your English. All Royal Oak students are welcome to join us.  Please see Ms. Beristain in room 219 for more information.

Drawing Group: Please pick up your Christmas cards and posters in Ms. Noel's room before December 16th. Drawing club is canceled for next week but will continue in the new year.


Grade 8 Girls Basketball: Please return your uniform to Ms. Fuller in Room 124 before Friday!

Reminder to all students interested in playing volleyball on a competitive team this year, that team selection practices are taking place this week. Please see the practice schedule posted on the ROMS Athletics webpage, the athletics bulletin board, and around the school. All students are welcome to partake. Practising after school today are grade 6 girls with Ms. Espedido, and tomorrow morning we have the grade 6/7 boys team at 7:45 am.

Good afternoon Royal Oak! Here is your TV News stories for Monday, December 12h

Did you know this is the last week of school before the Holiday Break! Yes 4 days to go! Make sure your are not on the naughty list! The guy in the red suite calls the school daily to see how you are doing!

Did you also know elephants are the only mammal that can't jump. That's interesting!

Poster Contest: ROMS PAC is hosting a bottle drive from January 3-13. Poster Contest for the most creative Recycling poster for the Bottle drive. All entries in by January 6th and winning student gets pizza party for their home room class. Details available outside the office and on the website.

Helping Families of the Evergreen Terrace Fire:

You may have noticed the small Christmas tree by the front door. Donations that are being collected for kids whose families were affected by the Evergreen Terrace fire in Victoria last month. Please look at the ornaments on the tree, ask your parents for permission and then take an ornament if you would like to donate to help those families in need. Donations are due on Thursday, December 15th. Drop off at the office.

1) Today's weather calls for snow flurries and a cold temperature of 2 degrees. The forecast looks much better for the rest of the week with sunny skies! Let's keep those fingers crossed that our weather forecast is correct!

2) A big congratulations the RO basketball players last week. The BB teams played some very exciting games and came very close to being the city champions! Well done RO!!

3) Report cards went home on Friday! Envelopes should have come back today. If you did not bring back your envelope, please do so tomorrow!

4) The winter break is coming in 4 days!. Be sure to clean out your locker and do not leave any food items behind tomold and attract fruit flies. Remember to take your gym strip home to be washed.

5) The snow day on Friday brought a great deal of fun for all! Be sure to watch the hallway TV photos for your picture!

6) The PAC is holding a bottle drive right after the Holiday Break. Be sure to tell your parents that they can donate all refundable bottles to the school on the Tuesday we return from the Holidays.

7) Lost & Found: Check out the lost & found today. All unclaimed items will be donated to charity at the end of the school day on Thursday December 15th.

Bottle drive – Save your bottles and recyclables over the holiday


Help support ROMS.  Bring your recyclables to the school  for the first

two weeks of the New Year (January 3rd-13th) *Drop off before and after

school* *into gated area near the sport courts*.
