Morning Radio News @ 9:05 am



Drawing Group: Please pick up your Christmas cards and posters in Ms. Noel's room before December 16th. Drawing club is canceled for next week but will continue in the new year.


Pizza Day – Classes will be called in the following order: Wolf Hallway, Orca, Raven & then Thunderbird hallway Helpers: Div 7-1

ROMS SPORTS:


Basketball:
After an epic battle in the city championship game against the Dunsmuir Dragons the ROMS 6/7 girls basketball team was defeated by 2 points in double overtime last night. Congratulations on an incredible season and second place finish girls! You put on quite a show in the final and proudly represented your school. 

Thank you to all the players, coaches, and parents on all our teams, who helped make this basketball season a success. Great job Eagles!

Volleyball:
Volleyball team selection practices have begun! Please see the practice schedule on the Royal Oak Athletics webpage or posted on the athletics bulletin board outside the gym. The team selection practice happening today after school, is for grade 8 girls. Next week, we start with the grade 7 girls practicing Monday morning at 7:30 am. All interested students are welcome.


Intra murals:
The first semi-final of the grade 6/7 indoor soccer intramural tournament commences today at lunch recess in the gym. Mr. Menzies will be coming around this morning to advise divisions if they are playing today. The second semi-final will be next Tuesday, and the final game will be next Thursday.


Athletic Leadership:
Reminder to all athletic leadership members of your meeting today during advisory ion the gym.

Good afternoon Royal Oak! Here is your TV News stories for Thursday, December 8th


Poster Contest: ROMS PAC is hosting a bottle drive from January 3-13. Poster Contest for the most creative Recycling poster for the Bottle drive. All entries in by January 6th and winning student gets pizza party for their home room class. Details available outside the office and on the website.


Helping Families of the Evergreen Terrace Fire:

You may have noticed the small Christmas tree by the front door. Donations that are being collected for kids whose families were affected by the Evergreen Terrace fire in Victoria last month. Please look at the ornaments on the tree, ask your parents for permission and then take an ornament if you would like to donate to help those families in need. Donations are due on Thursday, December 15th. Drop off at the office.

Purdys Chocolate Orders Ready for pick up on the following days and

Monday December 12th 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm in the main foyer of the school

Tuesday December 13th 9:00 am to 9:30 am and 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm in the main foyer of the school


Wednesday December 14th 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm in the main foyer of the school

PAC Bottle Drive:

Bottle drive – Save your bottles and recyclables over the holiday

break.

Help support ROMS.  Bring your recyclables to the school  for the first

two weeks of the New Year (January 3rd-13th) *Drop off before and after

school* *into gated area near the sport courts*.

Poster Contest for the most creative Recycling poster for the Bottle drive.

Coaches or Supervisors:

We are in great need of recreational coaches or parent supervisors for our grade 8 boys and girls teams. Please email Mr. Menzies if your parents can help facilitate a team. We had many students interested and the season is right around the corner!
