Vocal Ensemble:
A reminder to meet in the band room right after recess with your lunch for our field trip!


Chill Zone: A friendly reminder to Chill Zone members to meet same place and same time today.


Pizza Day tomorrow - $2.50 per slice


Canteen today: On sale at recess -chocolate chip cookies $1.00, smoothies 50 cents, burritos $1.00

ROMS SPORTS:


Basketball: Congratulations to the boys and girls grade 8 competitive teams on their successful seasons. The Boys won their game last night vs Glanford to take 3rd in the city, and the girls took second place after facing Gordon Head. Great job Eagles!

Today, the 6/7 competitive girls basketball team takes on Dunsmuir for the City Championship TODAY at 5:15 pm at SMUS. Come on out and support the Eagles! Good luck girls!


Volleyball:
Attention all students interested in volleyball. The team selection practice schedule has been posted on the PE office door, and on the ROMS athletics web page. If you are interested in playing on a competitive team, please come to the age appropriate practice time to sign up. Practi
cing today are:

Grade 6 Girls, at lunch and after school and the Grade 8 Boys after school.

Please be there on time, and students who cannot make the practices but would like to play on a competitive team must contact Mr. Menzies before practice to discuss.

Good afternoon Royal Oak! Here is your TV News stories for Thursday, December 8th


Poster Contest: ROMS PAC is hosting a bottle drive from January 3-13. Poster Contest for the most creative Recycling poster for the Bottle drive. All entries in by January 6th and winning student gets pizza party for their home room class. Details available outside the office and on the website.


Helping Families of the Evergreen Terrace Fire:

You may have noticed the small Christmas tree by the front door. Donations that are being collected for kids whose families were affected by the Evergreen Terrace fire in Victoria last month. Please look at the ornaments on the tree, ask your parents for permission and then take an ornament if you would like to donate to help those families in need. Donations are due on Thursday, December 15th. Drop off at the office.

PURDY'S CHOCOLATES – PICK UP ORDERS!

Purdys Chocolate Orders Ready for pick up on the following days and

times:


Monday December 12th 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm in the main foyer of the school

Tuesday December 13th 9:00 am to 9:30 am and 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm in the main foyer of the school


Wednesday December 14th 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm in the main foyer of the school

PAC Bottle Drive:

Bottle drive – Save your bottles and recyclables over the holiday

break.

Help support ROMS.  Bring your recyclables to the school  for the first

two weeks of the New Year (January 3rd-13th) *Drop off before and after

school* *into gated area near the sport courts*.

Poster Contest for the most creative Recycling poster for the Bottle drive.

Coaches or Supervisors:

We are in great need of recreational coaches or parent supervisors for our grade 8 boys and girls teams. Please email Mr. Menzies if your parents can help facilitate a team. We had many students interested and the season is right around the corner!
