Morning Radio News @ 9:05 am

There will be a Youth in Action meeting Wednesday at second recess to discuss our first campaign, "We Scare Hunger", which will begin tomorrow!  All members from all grades are welcome and encouraged to come so we can start organizing the collection of food in classrooms for our local community members who are in need.  

Tomorrow is Pizza Thursday! $2.50 per slice, and San Pelligrino will be available for $2.00.

Canteen today: Popcorn sold every Wednesday at first recess for $1.50

Screamfest tickets on sale Thursday at 1:16 pm outside the office. $5.00 each Please remember that students must be in the company of an adult to be admitted to Screamfest.

Bus students: Bus #16 will be here after school as usual. All bus students please make your way out to the busses as soon as the bell rings, there will be no lining up, you can board your bus right away.


Grade 8 Intra-mural soccer reminder to divisions 8-1, 8-2 and 8-6 of their indoor soccer games today at lunch. 

There will be a meeting for all grade 7/8 girls soccer player today at first recess in the gym to discuss transportation to the tournament today. Please be there on time and help remind your team mates of the meeting.

Practice for the 6/7 boys competitive basketball team will start at 2:15 today due to the early dismissal. Please be ready to play right after school is dismissed and remember to hand your permission forms into Mr. Menzies.

The next practice for the 6/7 boys recreational basketball team will be tomorrow morning at 8:00am. All boys playing on the REC team must attend or speak to Mr. Menzies today. Also, please remember to hand in your permission forms to Mr. Menzies.

Did you know Ms. Hunter will be in the Dunk Tank during Screamfest?

There are now 9 days until Screamfest 2016! Get your tickets tomorrow, Thursday. Remember students need to have parents attend as this is a family event! The tickets are going fast and are soon sold out. If your parents have not purchased their ticket, please remind them. Parents can still volunteer to help as well.

1) Parent Teacher interviews are on today. Students will be dismissed at 2:08 pm to catch the buses. Students are not to visit their elementary school on early dismissal

2) Screamfest is needing your help with music for the event. There is a survey that your teachers know about with only 4 questions. This survey will help determine the type of music being played at Screamfest. The survey is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6PGDLGS

3) Thursday will be Pizza Day this week. Be sure to remind your parents. And remember your money! There will not be Choc Milk on Thursday – rather special juice drinks!. See the posters in the hallways for details!

4) Recycling stations are looking much better this week. The Blue Floor fully met expectations this week. Green floor needs some improvement with how items are sorted at the stations! Let's make a difference in our world RO!

5) Cadets? If you are in air, army or sea cadets, we are looking for you to carry flags into the Remembrance Day assembly on Nov 10th. See Mr. Bergeron.

6) What do you do during an earthquake? Be sure to review the procedures with your classroom teachers. Thursday is the “Great BC Day Shake Out” where schools around the province will be conducting earthquake drills.

7) Reminder Friday is a Pro D day which means no school! Yes!

8) Next Monday, October 24th, is the 10th annual Drop Everything and Read Challenge! Visit the Learning Commons so you have a book to read AHEAD OF TIME. Monday at 11:00, ROMS students and staff will drop everything and read to celebrate BC School Libraries and the freedom to read.

9) The Blue Jays continue to survive! They won game 4 last night. Go Blue Jays!

Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 8:00-9:00 am in Room 215 and

Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:08-4:08 pm in Room 215
