Next MondayOctober 24th is BC School Library Day.


To celebrate school libraries and the freedom to read, ROMS students will participate in the 10th annual Drop Everything and Read Challenge!  Last year over 70,000 students participated in BC. This year the goal is to have 100,000 students participating.  


Visit the Learning Commons so you have a book to read AHEAD OF TIME. 


There is a grade 6 Clarinet sectional today at 12:31, second recess


Craft Club: Today at 12:31 – 1:11 at room 125.


Canteen today On sale at recess - Cookies $1.00, smoothies 50 cents

Canteen tomorrow: Popcorn sold every Wednesday at first recess for $1.50

Due to Parent Teacher interviews today, there will be no Judo after school.  We will be back on the mats with Judo next Tuesday after school.

Screamfest tickets on sale Thursday at 1:16 pm outside the office. $5. each Please remember that students must be in the company of an adult to be admitted to Screamfest.



ROMS SPORTS


Grade 8 Intra-mural soccer reminder to divisions 8-1, 8-2 and 8-6 of their indoor soccer games Wednesday at lunch. 


Attention all girls who play on the 6/7 soccer team! There will be a very important meeting for all players at first recess today in the gym to discuss todays jamboree at North Saanich. All girls must attend.


Grade 7/8 girls' soccer: Reminder that your final practice is today after school with Ms. McManus from 3:15 to 4:15. The final jamboree is tomorrow at Glanford Middle School.


Reminder to all grade 6/7 boys on the soccer team of your practice TOMORROW morning, Wednesday. Please be there on time and ready to practice by 8:00am in preparation for your final tournament at Glanford on Thursday.


Grade 8 Girls Competitive basketball: Please meet in the gym at first recess with your paperwork. We will hand out uniforms and organize rides at this time.

Good afternoon Royal Oak! Here is your TV News stories for Tuesday, October 18th


Did you know that the Hawaiian Alphabet has only 13 letters?


There are now 10 days until Screamfest 2016! Get your tickets this Thursday. Remember students need to have parents attend. This is a family event! The Thursday evening is almost sold out. The Friday event is also selling fast so get your tickets this week!.



1) Photo Retake day is tomorrow! . Be sure to bring in your original photo package to the photographer. Students will be called by a class runner.


2) Parent Teacher interviews are today and Wednesday. Students will be dismissed at 2:08 pm to catch the buses.


3) Screamfest is still needing your parents as volunteers to help run Screamfest! Tell your parents.


4) Thursday will be Pizza Day this week due to the NID on Friday! Be sure to tell your parents.

Pizza Thursday is coming your way. There will no Chocolate Milk sold. See the posters in the hallways for details!


5) The Cross country race is on Oct 27th! Keep running and training!


6) Recycling stations are looking much better this week. Be sure to sort items properly at the hallway stations. If every student picked up one piece of paper each day for 5 days, we would have 3235 pieces of garbage off the ground.


7) Cadets? Are you an air, army or sea cadet? We are looking for any cadets that would be willing to carry flags into the assembly on Nov 10th. See Mr. Bergeron.

Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 8:00-9:00 am in Room 215 and

Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:08-4:08 pm in Room 215
