Morning Radio News @ 9:05 am

Judo Club: Are you a Royal Oak student who is interested in learning judo? If you are, there is a meeting of the Royal Oak Judo Club today in the Multi-Purpose Room with Mr. Mollard at 11:25 during morning recess.


Grade 8 Student Leadership: There is a Student Leadership meeting today in the Art Room at 1:16 pm.


Games Club: Games Club starts today in room 125 at 1:16 pm. 


ROMS SPORTS


Girls Grade 6/7 Soccer: Reminder of practice for the Grade 6 and 7 Girls Soccer on Tuesday Morning at 8:00.  Meet Miss Mah and Andrea in front of the gym.  Please remember your cleats and shin guards and PE strip.


Cross Country Team: Any students interested in running with the ROMS cross-country team are asked to attend an information meeting today at morning recess in Room 130.



ROMS PE Strip: Eagles Athletics PE Strip is now for sale!! This is you chance to pick up Royal Oak Eagles t-shirts, shorts, and long sleeve warm up shirts to wear in PE and for other activities. Swing by the PE office to try on sizes and see samples. Order forms are available on the ROMS athletics web page and outside the PE office, and are due by next Friday September 23rd handed in to Mr. Menzies in the PE office.

Earthquake Kits:
Reminder to both Students and Staff, to bring in your Earthquake Comfort survival kits.  In the event of an earthquake, we want to be prepared. 



Notice to all bus students – Skateboard and Scooters are not permitted on the buses this year due to safety reasons.


Parents & PAC Royal Oak Review @ noon:


Emergency Preparedness Drills: For emergency preparedness with our students and staff - we conduct six fire drills, two earthquake drills and one lock down drill every school year.  This week we will be conducting a lock down drill - please review with your child the need for the school to practice this very unlikely event. 

Please complete information forms package and return them to Homeroom teacher asap.


Home work Club. Extra support will be available to students on the following days:

Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 8:00-9:00 am in Room 215 and

Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:08-4:08 pm in Room 215

Please ask your teacher for details!


Art Donations: ROMS parents: Please consider donating your fashion, food, sports and other magazines to the art room. We can also use various sizes of plastic containers including 500ml up to ice cream buckets. If there are any parents that would like to volunteer in the Art room, please contact D. Kardash at dkardash@sd63.bc.ca.  


We would like to invite the whole community (parents and students) to our welcome back BBQ! 

When: Wednesday, Sept 28 from 4-7. 
Schedule: 
4:00 pm-6:00 pm BBQ -$5 for a burgers or veggie burger, drink and chips. We will also have a yummy sweets.. 
6:00-7:00: Open House in the School Meet your child's teacher/s 
6:30-7:00: New parent orientation in the MPR. This session is important to attend if you are a new parent to the school.

PAC Meeting On Thursday, October 20th. It is great to have the support of so many ROMS parents.
