National Aboriginal Day: Today is National Aboriginal Day and Canada is celebrating 20 years of strong vibrant cultures and traditions. This is a day for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First NationsInuit and Métis peoples.


Yearbooks: Yearbooks are distributed to homeroom classes today during advisory time (12:47pm).  Please come see Miss Cottier in room 222 if you have any questions about yearbooks during lunch time and after school only.  Additional yearbooks will go on sale tomorrow morning starting at 8am in Miss Cottier's room.  Yearbooks are $35 each.  There are 50 additional books- first come first serve only.


Library Books: A reminder to all students to return you library books to the Learning Commons as soon as possible.


Student Awards: Self nominated forms for Leadership, Athletics & Fine Arts awards are due into homeroom teachers no later than Thursday June 23 (no exceptions). Forms are available on our school website.

Permission Forms: Reminder to all students that your early dismissal forms for the last day of school are due into your homeroom teacher by Monday, June 27th. Students must have a signed form in order to be dismissed early.


Grade 8 Farewell: A reminder to Grade 8 students that Grade 8 Farewell tickets will be on sale tomorrow during lunch recess.

Lost: A turquoise purse has been lost, if found please turn it in at the office. Please claim at the office.


Grade 8 Farewell: A reminder to Grade 8 students that you can purchase your ticket for $10. outside the office during second recess on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays.

ROMS Year End Assembly: On Wednesday, June 29 from 10:30-11:15, we will do a final year end assembly. During this assembly, we will do some brief student awards as well as a slide show to celebrate the year. All families are welcome to attend. 

Found: An adult size green rain jacket was left in the office last week.

Country Grocer Gift Cards:


The Gift That Keeps On Giving…………..

Help us raise funds for ROMS school programs……The PAC has $3,000. worth of Country Grocer gift cards that you can purchase at face value. Use them to purchase your groceries or give them as a gift for someone special. Buy a gift card from us and every dollar goes directly back into school programs - our students benefit from your support!


Gift cards can be purchased in $50 denominations and can be purchased in the school office Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. Cash or cheque accepted (cheques made payable to ROMS PAC).

We would like to thank Country Grocer, for their community fund raising campaigns such as the

“Country Grocer Receipts” program, and members of our community and extended ROMS families for collecting Country Grocer receipts for our school.

Thank you for supporting our ROMS school programs!


SPC Card Coordinator: PAC is looking for a parent to coordinate the on line selling of SPC cards in the fall. This is an easy fund raiser to organize and mainly takes some coordination with the SPC rep. Many of the students can use the SPC discount cards at the malls and elsewhere. Please emailromspacpresident@gmail.com if you are interested in heading up this fund raiser.

 

Open Air Library: The 'Open-Air' Library, sponsored by Saanich Peninsula Literacy opens for a second summer starting July 5th at Sidney's Beacon Park. Come and experience the joy of reading in this beautiful outdoor setting. Free books are provided each week for all ages to enjoy. Take one home to read and return it or keep it...no strings attached and no library card needed. Join the fun each Tuesday from 10am until noon from July 5th to August 23rd . 


Grade 8 Farewell:

Attention all Grade 8 families: 
On June 27th the Grade 8 students will be celebrating 3 fabulous years at a Farewell HOLLYWOOD themed event. The event will take place at ROMS in the Gym and MPR from 6pm-9pm. There will be food, games and a DJ. 
Tickets : will be sold at Lunch Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays starting June 6 th @ $10 each . If paying by cheque please make it payable to ROMS PAC

We need volunteers to make this event possible.

Compost Super Sales: Organic compost soil sales: $10 per bag or 3 bags for $20. Pick up on school days from 2:50-3:25 pm


School Supplies On-line Orders: You are now able to order school supplies on-line. Visit our school website – under Daily Announcements – for detailed instructions on how to place your order. Please make sure to quote Royal Oak PAC Code 38C7C6 when placing your order.


Smile Cards: Please use your Thrifty Foods Smile Cards when you buy their groceries. Our
PAC receives 5% (yes, 5c for every dollar you spend! ) on all purchases
that families make, using their Thrifty's Smile Cards.  The program wraps
up for the school year in June, so we have less than 2 months left.  If you
don't have a card, but would like one, please email
