Morning Radio News @ 9:05 am


ALS Triathalon:  All students interested in participating in the ALS triathalon as a volunteer or a participant, please come to an important meeting at first recess today in the MPR. 


Glasses:  A pair of girls glasses were found in the hallway.  Please claim them at the office.

Canteen today:  Popcorn on sale  at first recess.  Popcorn $1.00, Chocolate milk $1.50, White milk $1.00


Canteen Thursday:  Cookies 75 cents, smoothies  50 cents, chicken nuggets $2.00


ROMS SPORTS

 

Track & Field:  There will be a very important meeting for all students participating in the Greater Victoria Track and Field City Championships today at SECOND recess. Please come to the gym right after advisory to discuss tomorrow's all day track meet. This is a mandatory meeting for all track and field team members!

Grade 7 Students:  If you are interested in being a ROMS morning news announcer for next school year please pick up an application outside of the office.  See Mr. Bergeron for questions.  


Parents & PAC Royal Oak Review @ noon:


Open Air Library:  The 'Open-Air' Library, sponsored by Saanich Peninsula Literacy opens for a second summer starting July 5th at Sidney's Beacon Park. Come and experience the joy of reading in this beautiful outdoor setting. Free books are provided each week for all ages to enjoy. Take one home to read and return it or keep it...no strings attached and no library card needed. Join the fun each Tuesday from 10am until noon from July 5th to August 23rd .   

World Oceans Day:  In celebration of this international day, World Fisheries Trust and the Township of Esquimalt are hosting a World Oceans Day event with interpretive walks, guided Songhees canoe tours of the Gorge, crafts, games, live music and food! Many other local organizations that share an interest in our ocean will be joining the celebration with informative displays and ocean-related activities for all ages.   Saturday, June 4th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm Esquimalt Gorge Park at 1070 Tillicum Rd.  www.worldfish.org


 Grade 8 Farewell:  

Attention all Grade 8 families: 

On June 27th the Grade 8 students will be celebrating 3 fabulous years at a Farewell HOLLYWOOD themed event. The event will take place at ROMS in the Gym and MPR from 6pm-9pm. There will be food, games and a DJ. 

Tickets : will be sold at Lunch Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays starting June 6 th @ $10 each .  If paying by cheque please make it payable to ROMS PAC


We need volunteers to make this event possible.

Compost Super Sales:  Organic compost soil sales:  $10 per bag or 3 bags for $20.  Pick up on school days from 2:50-3:25 pm

Smile Cards:  Please use your Thrifty Foods Smile Cards when you buy their groceries. Our

PAC receives 5% (yes, 5c for every dollar you spend! ) on all purchases

that families make, using their Thrifty's Smile Cards.  The program wraps

up for the school year in June, so we have less than 2 months left.  If you

don't have a card, but would like one, please email
