Morning Radio News @ 9:05 am

Science Challengers:  Kudos to all of the science challengers for their excellent showing at UVIC yesterday.  Special congratulations to the Royal Oak team that placed second among middle schools from across the city and lower island.

Drawing & Cartooning Group:  Meets today in Ms. Savage's Room 223 at lunch activity time.  Please bring your pencil case, coloured pencils, scissors, sharpies and glue.  Please let Ms. Savage or Ms. Spencer know if you are unable to come. 

Pizza Day tomorrow - $2.50 per slice

Canteen today:  Cookies 75 cents, smoothies  50 cents, chicken nuggets $2.00

 Lost & Found:  Please check the lost and found for items that you may have lost.  All items will be bagged up on Tuesday, May 24th and donated to charity.


Track & Field:  There is a high jump practice in the gym today at 1:16 pm.  Also, there will be a practice at 8:00 am tomorrow morning for all events.

Trumpet Players:  All grade 6 trumpet players have sectionals today during lunch activity in the band room.

Jazz Band:   There will be an extra jazz band rehearsal on Friday, May 20 during lunch activity in the band room.

Performance Opportunity:  There will be an open stage in the MPR on the night of the ROMS year end band concert on May 25.  Any students interested in performing as a solo or small group act please see Mr. Bridgman by Thursday, May 19.  Performances should be well prepared and could include a variety of performing arts such as musical, dramatic or dance performances.

We Create Change:  Thank you Royal Oak. In just two weeks we raised over $665 to help build a school in Ecuador. In total this year, we raised just over $1500 to help build a school. A great big shout out and Early pizza line  goes to....Mrs Ryan's class - You should let Tyler V go first! Thank you to everyone who donated.

Parents & PAC Royal Oak Review @ noon:

Compost Sales:  Organic compost soil sales:  $10 per bag or 3 bags for $25.  Pick up on school days from 2:50-3:25 pm

Smile Cards:  Please use your Thrifty Foods Smile Cards when you buy their groceries. Our

PAC receives 5% (yes, 5c for every dollar you spend! ) on all purchases

that families make, using their Thrifty's Smile Cards.  The program wraps

up for the school year in June, so we have less than 2 months left.  If you

don't have a card, but would like one, please email
