Morning Radio News @ 9:05 am


Science Challengers:  Today is competition day at UVIC.    Please remember to attend morning homeroom before meeting in front of the office after the bell.  


Girls Circle: Girls Circle meets today at advisory, 11:40  in the Blue Conference Room. See you there!


Lost & Found:  Please check the lost and found for items that you may have lost.  All items will be bagged up on Tuesday, May 24th and donated to charity.


Canteen today:  Popcorn on sale  at first recess.  Popcorn $1.00, Chocolate milk $1.50, White milk $1.00


Canteen Thursday:  Cookies 75 cents, smoothies  50 cents, chicken nuggets $2.00


ROMS SPORTS

Track & Field:  Schedules are posted around the school and on the ROMS Athletics webpage. Track meet number 3 is next week, Wednesday May 25 and will include the 4 x 100m relay, the 4 x 400m relay, and the 2000m final. Please go to lowerislandshoolsports.ca for further details.


Field Hockey:  All field hockey players are reminded of their Mandatory meeting today during First Recess in the Learning Commons.

Band Sectionals:   There will be a jazz band rehearsal today during lunch activity in the band room.  


Trumpet Players:  All grade 6 trumpet players have sectionals on Thursday, May 19 during lunch activity in the band room.


Performance Opportunity:  There will be an open stage in the MPR on the night of the ROMS year end band concert on May 25.  Any students interested in performing as a solo or small group act please see Mr. Bridgman by Thursday, May 19.  Performances should be well prepared and could include a variety of performing arts such as musical, dramatic or dance performances.



We Create Change:  Thank you Royal Oak. In just two weeks we raised over $665 to help build a school in Ecuador. In total this year, we raised just over $1500 to help build a school. A great big shout out and Early pizza line  goes to....Mrs Ryan's class - You should let Tyler V go first! Thank you to everyone who donated.


Parents & PAC Royal Oak Review @ noon:

 

PAC AGM:  The PAC AGM meeting is this Wednesday, May 18th. All parents are welcome to attend. The meeting starts at 7 pm and is held in the Learning Commons at Royal Oak. This is the last PAC meeting of the year.


Compost Sales:  Organic compost soil sales:  $10 per bag or 3 bags for $25.  Pick up on school days from 2:50-3:25 pm


Parent Info Session for childhood anxiety:  Empowering Strategies and Effective Support. Registration is free, and is required. Please note that this is a REPEAT event of the February Bayside presentation, being offered this time in the north zone at North Saanich Middle School.
