Morning Radio News @ 9:05 am

Today we welcome Grade 5 students from Prospect Lake School and other students from out of district schools who are here at Royal Oak for a school tour today and will be attending ROMS in September 2016.

Drama Class:  Savages Block 2 drama class meets in her classroom today Tuesday rm 223. Block 1 class is in the drama room as usual.

Learning Commons:  The Learning Commons will be closed at lunch today to set up for an event.  If you have urgent homework to do, you may use the computers.

Be the Change in the world - A loose change fundraiser to help build a school overseas. Bring in your loose change (bill accepted too) and put it in the house bank in your class. The class with the most money on as of Friday, May 13th will get to go first for Pizza day!

Congratulations to Sierra E. and the  Victoria Chargers U13 Girls Volleyball team for winning the silver medal at the BC Provincials in Abbotsford on the weekend.

Craft Club: Today at 1:16- 1:56 at room 125.

Dance Club: Dance club will meet in the Drama Room at 1:16 today.

Canteen today:  Cookies  75 cents, smoothies  50 cents

Canteen tomorrow:  Popcorn sold every Wednesday at first recess.  Popcorn $1.00, Chocolate milk $1.50, White milk $1.00

ROMS SPORTS

Track & Field:  Attention all track and field member who plan on participating in this Thursday's track meet. There will be a mandatory meeting for all track athletes today at FIRST recess in the gym. All track member must attend to double check that you are signed up for the events you would like to participate. Please be there on time and again, everyone signed up for track must attend. See you there!
 
Badminton:  Congratulations to the Royal Oak badminton players who competed in the City Finals last night. There were some great matches that kept the spectators on the edge of their seats. Royal Oak players who can now call themselves "city champs" are: Ellie Vance and Justin Sui who both won their divisions. Thanks to all students who participated in badminton and contributed to a great season.

Field Hockey:  Field Hockey players are reminded of their MANDATORY meeting on Wednesday during FIRST RECESS in the learning commons.  Please let Miss Fuller or Ms. Prevost know before Wednesday if you CANNOT attend this meeting.

Band Sectionals:  All grade 6 saxophonists have sectionals today during lunch activity in the band room. 

Gr 7 Band Rehearsal
There will be a dress rehearsal tomorrow Wednesday, May 4 starting at 1pm in the band room for all grade 7 band students attending the Port Alberni band trip.

  We are now fully booked for appointments.  We ask that if you are concerned about placement for next year that you have a discussion with your child's current teacher.
