Royal Oak Middle School

ROMS Eagles represented our school very well in the 89th Annual Elementary and Middle School Swim Meet, that took place at the Saanich Commonwealth Pool, this past weekend.

Here are the results for Individual Events:

Girls 13-14 years old
Emiko O: 5th on 50m Free, 2nd 50m Back , 4th on 50m Fly
Alexx G: 8th on 50m Free, 3rd on 50m Breast , 7th on 50m Fly

Girls 11-12 years old
Sophie M: 4th on 50m Free, 2nd on 50m Breast , 4th on 50m Fly
Marisa S: 9th on 50m Free, 5th on 50 Back, 10th on 50m Fly,
Gyanna M: 18th on 50m Free, 13th on 50m Back 14th on 50m Fly
Sloane W: 7th on 50m Back, 1st on 50m Breast , 7th on 50m Fly

Boys 12-14 years old
Gonzalo P-F: 1st on 50m Free, 1st on 50m Back, 1st on 50m Fly
Alex M: 7th on 50m Free, 3rd on 50m Breast , 7th on 50m Fly

Team events:
Royal Oak put up a fierce competition in every single Relay Team Race, ahead of very strong teams such as St. Michaels and Pacific Christian School:
1st on 14 and Under Girls, 200M Free Relay
1st on 12 and Under Girls, 200M Free Relay
1st on 14 and Under Girls, 200M Medley Relay
1st on 12 and Under Mixed, 200M Free Relay

In Summary, Royal Oak won:
- 4 Gold medals on Relays (4 first places),
- 4 Gold medals in individual events
- 2 Silver Medals
- 2 Bronze Medals

The results are very remarkable, considering that our team was pretty small (8 swimmers), compared to other schools. It was a great finish for an awesome season of swimming !!!
It is great to see that Eagles can swim so well !!! Good job Eagles !!
