Girls Circle: Girls Circle meets today at advisory, 12:47 in the Blue Conference Room. See you there!

Canteen Thursday:  Cookies 75 cents, smoothies  50 cents, chicken nuggets $2.00

Pizza Day:  This week pizza day will be on Thursday (tomorrow). Don't forget your money!!

Pink Shirt Day:  Anti Bullying Day  - On Wednesday February 24th, wear pink to support anti-bullying day. A limited number of shirts will be on sale at first  recess this week, outside the office for $10

Math Contest:  Royal Oak would like to recognize the following students for their excellent and achievement in yesterdays National Math League Contest.  In Grade 8 the top 5 finalists were Kayla G., Jishang J., Eric Y., Jonas D., Pia N., Justin N., and Bruce H..  The top Grade 7 finalists were Justin S., Rafael E., Alen F., Ian B., Sarah P., and Leo S..  With honorable mention going to Michael D..  The top Grade 6 finalists were Kate S., Marley E., Macy H., and Serena Z.  Honourable mentions to Mira C., Alexis V., Gyanna M. and Katherine W..  Please visit Miss Cottier today in room 222 for a certificate of achievement.  Congratulations! 

Jazz Band:  There will be a jazz band rehearsal on Wednesday, Feb. 17 during lunch activity in the band room.

Gr 6 Sectionals:  All grade 6 saxophonists have sectionals on Thurs, Feb. 18 during lunch activity in the band room.

Mental Health Awareness Day:  Reminder to all students and staff to wear your brightest colours tomorrow (Thursday) in an attempt to raise awareness and support for mental health in our community and our school.

Science Challengers:  Do you enjoy science and math?  Would you like to explore and study areas beyond the curriculum?  Are you willing to join a team and compete against students from other schools? If so, please come to an important meeting on Thursday at lunch activity in room 130.  All grades welcome

Royal Oak Eagles Athletic Clothing is now for sale. Support your school's athletic programs by purchasing Eagles athletic clothing! Order forms can be found just outside the PE office, and at the front entrance to the school. Also, swing by the Gym at morning and lunch recess to try on sizes. All orders are due by Tuesday February 23rd.

Yearbook: ROMS 2015/2016 Yearbook is now available for Pre-Order! Yearbooks are 128 pages of full colour awesomeness!! This year the book will contain over 2,000 photos from anything from athletics, to extra-curricular, to random moments caught on camera! Books are $35 and forms are available from Miss Cottier and on her homework website!  Grade 8's have until March 11th to email a baby photo!

Lost & Found:   Our Lost and Found has reached capacity.  All unclaimed items will be given to charity TODAY (Wednesday).  Please check if your child has lost items.  Thank you!!
 
Bottle Depot Account:  The grade 8 farewell committee has setup an account at the Bottle Depot. Parents can drop off their recycling to any of the 3 Bottle Depot locations. YOU MUST REFERENCE our "Royal Oak PAC account" PRIOR to the start of them ringing up your recycling. There will also be a bottle drive at the beginning of April and all proceeds will go to benefit the grade 8 farewell. Thanks to all families for your support.
