Early Dismissal:  Just a reminder that today and tomorrow are early dismissal days. School will be dismissed  at 2:08. Buses will be coming early.

Band: All grade 6 bass players have sectionals today during lunch activity.

Whistler Trip: Whistler band trip deposits for grade 8 band students are due today.

Lost: Black Iphone 4 in an otterbox case. Reward is being offered for its return. Please see the office.

Student Vote: Last week, Royal Oak participated in the Canada Wide Student Vote 2015.  Congratulations to the students in 14 different divisions who cast an informed ballot in our mock student federal election.  A total of 468 ballots were cast!  Way to go ROMS!Here are ROMS student vote results by party:  198 votes: Green Party; 135 votes: Liberal Party; 83 votes: NDP; 46 votes: Conservative Party; 4 votes: Communist Party; (2 spoiled ballots)

Grade 8 gear orders are due on Tuesday, October 27th. Order forms are being sent home the next couple days. Please place your order in the next week- it may be cost prohibitive to place a second order later on in the school year and this may be your only chance to order.

DEAR: Monday October 26th from 11:00 - 11:23 will be our DEAR (Drop Everything and Read!) event at ROMS. Everyone in our school will have the opportunity to take a short break from busy schedules to read in celebration of BC School Libraries/Learning Commons, literacy and learning. Visit the Learning Commons to make sure you have something great to read for this event. 

WE Day Participants: A very important meeting at FIRST RECESS (10:53) for all We Day Participants in Ms Morgan's room. Please be there.

Craft Club:  Today at 1:16- 1:56 at room 125.

Canteen today:  Cookies  75 cents, smoothies  50 cents

ROMS SPORTS

Grade 7/8 girls basketball: Grade 7/8 girls basketball practice is after school tomorrow at 2:30 pm. There is also a practice Thursday morning at 8:00 am before school.

6/7 Recreational Basketball Team: All girls interested in playing on the 6/7 recreational basketball team, there is a mandatory meeting in Ms. Robson's room (221) today at lunch recess. 

Grade 6/7 boys Competitive Basketball Team: The grade 6/7 boys competitive basketball team is reminded of their practice tomorrow morning at 8:00. Please be there on time, bring your signed permission forms, and be ready to play!

Grade 7/8  Girls Rec Basketball Team: There will be a meeting for all grade 7 or 8 girls interested in playing on the 7/8 rec basketball team today at morning recess in the gym. All interested girls are welcome and encouraged to join. That's 7/8 girls Rec basketball, morning recess, in the gym. See you there!

Soccer: A reminder to the grade 6/7 boys soccer team of their practice tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.  We will start at 8.00 am on the back field. 

Cross Country: Cross country runners participating in today's championship, please remember to change and then meet in the foyer after the end of the early Advisory Block today so we can send you off by 12:45.

Intra-murals: Notice to divisions 8-3, 8-6 and 8-7 of their intra-mural soccer games tomorrow at lunch. 

Band: There will be a jazz band rehearsal tomorrow during lunch activity in the band room.

Band: All grade 6 percussionists have sectionals on Thursday during lunch activity.

Food Drive: Watch out Royal Oak for our annual Halloween food drive for teh needy - Next week all week. Bring in non-perishable food items to help the less fortunate.
