Today Ms. Blaikie's block two drama class is to meet in her class, room #120. 

Athletic Leadership meeting today at the first recess in Ms. Robson's room!

International anti-bullying day is coming up this week on Wednesday, February 25th. Wear your pink clothes, everything counts! Jewelry, accessories, shoes, hair, shirts, pants, etc. There will be a pink photo shoot at first recess. Anyone wearing pink please attend! Prizes will be handed out afterwards to the most creative outfits and people wearing the most pink. Don't forget to THINK PINK ROMS, be kind to others and eliminate bullying!

Grade 6 saxophonists have sectionals today during lunch activity.

ROMS SPORTS

The Grade. 8 boys volleyball team has finished an undefeated season.  Come out next Monday for the final play offs ands cheer them on for the city championships!  Well done boys!

Grade 8s have their first rugby practice after school today. See Mr. Stanchfield if you have any questions. 

Mandatory meeting for all swim club members today at lunch recess in Ms. Robson's room! 

Grade 6 Girls rec team plays at home today.

Grade 7 Girls team 2 has a playoff game today at Central.

Grade 7 Girls team 3 plays in consolation finals today at Arbutus.

Grade 7 Girls team 1, plays at SMUS tomorrow. 

Grade 8 Girls team 2, has a playoff game tomorrow at home. Come cheer them on!

Preliminary swim meet is tomorrow from 9:45-3:00.


There will be no chess today at lunch recess.  Chess will resume next week.

Pink Day is on February 25th! Wear your pink to show your support to end bullying. Pink T-shirts will be available to purchase at lunch today for $5!

Canteen today: Cookies 75 cents, fruit smoothies - 50 cents, homemade pizza - $2.50.

Are you interested in Science?  Do you enjoy learning about areas of science not necessarily covered in school?  Would you be willing to test your knowledge and compete with students from other schools?  If so, come to the Science Challenge information meeting on Wednesday, February 25 in room 130 (Mr Azim's room).

Grizzlies tickets will be on sale this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at lunch for the Feb 28th game at the Q Centre. Tickets are $7.00 each. It's Royal Oak Night at the Grizzlies game so come with your friends, have some fun and watch the Grizzlies take on Nanaimo in their last season game before the play offs.

Only three weeks left for Grade 8 Students to get their baby photo in to Miss Cottier.  Please send a digital photo to Miss Cottier at ecottier@sd63.bc.ca by Friday March 6th.  No late photos will be accepted.


Parents & PAC Royal Oak Review @ noon:

There will be a PAC general meeting this Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the Learning Commons at Royal Oak. Attendance has been good at the PAC meetings this year and all parents are encouraged to attend. It is a great opportunity to find out more details about events PAC is working on as well as hear from administration. Meetings are held to an hour. 

Grade 8 parents: If you are interested in helping plan for a fun grade 8 farewell event, PAC is taking names of volunteers for the Grade 8 farewell committee. The farewell will take place at the end of June. Please send an email to romspacpresident@gmail.com to put your name on the list.
