Morning Announcements:
Welcome Claremont Counsellors!  The small blue conference room will be booked for counselor appointments today.

Ms. Savage's Drama 7 class will meet in her classroom today

Attention Grade 7/8 girls rec volleyball team, please meet in the gym today during advisory for for our wrap up party!

Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart
happens today during Blocks 2 & 3 and tomorrow all day during PE. Bring your toonie! Donation envelopes are due tomorrow.

There is a Gr 6/7 boys vs 6/7 girls volleyball game today at lunch in the gym. Spectators welcome!

ROMS NEWS

Grade 8 Boys Volleyball - A Big congratulations to our grade 8 boys for their great season and for their wonderful effort yesterday in the City Finals.  The boys narrowly lost in the final game by two points to come second in the city standings.  Thank you to Mr. Ryan from Claremont for coaching our team to such a high standard.


Grade 8's  -
Reminder to get your Claremont Course Selection form In Wednesday.  This is a very important date for you to meet if you want the courses you have asked for.  Claremont will come to RO on Wednesday to pick the forms up.  After this date, it will be your responsibility to get your form to Claremont.

It is now
too late to send Miss Cottier your grade 8 baby photo- students had over months to do this and the page is now full.

Friday Clean up.  All personal items such as gym strip and food containers need to go home for the spring break.  Please ensure your locker and desk are in clean condition as we do not want things going moldy while we are gone for the break. 

Lost and Found - the collection of lost and found will be taken away on Friday.  If you have lost an item, please check to see if it is in the L & F.



Recycle Stations will be closed after Wednesday.  We will be washing up the hall towers and putting away the Station bins.  All classroom towers and compost bins need to be washed out and left in classrooms for the break. 

Garbage free Lunches - Starting Thursday, we will not have any recycling due to the spring clean up of containers.  Please use reusable food containers or bring home the packaging you bring to school.  Thanks for helping us keep our garbage to a minimum.

 


Wacky Hair Day! Yes this Friday will be Wacky Hair Day!  here at RO!.  Do up your hair in a creative and unique style to show your flare and individuality. There will be 3 prizes awarded to the most Wacky hair Styles on Wacky Hair Day!  this Friday! 

Sports:

  • All swim club members, please meet in the MPR at lunch recess on Wednesday for a team photo. Please bring your team t-shirt and donation for the coaches. 

  • There will be Grade 6, 7 and 8 boys rugby practices today and tomorrow after school. Please see Mr. Stanchfield if you can not attend.

  • There will be a volleyball game today at lunch between the Grade 6/7 boys and 6/7 girls. Spectators welcome!

  • Any girls interested in playing rugby this year, please see Ms. Robson. All ages and abilities welcome!

  • The Grade 8 boys are challenging the Grade 8 girls to a volleyball game tomorrow at lunch. Come cheer them on!

Swim Club Team photo will be this Wednesday at 1:16 in the Gym.  Please wear your swim club t-shirt and bring $5 for the coaches gift.

Spring is coming and so is Track and Field. The Victoria Track and Field Club will be starting up after March Break with practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Oak Bay Track from 6 – 7:30pm. If you like school track, joining Vic Track is a great way to improve or try out a variety of different events. We will be having a Meet the Coaches Night on March 27. Found: three pens – two silver coloured – one with Norms Drafting engraved on it. The third pen is gold coloured with the initials HS engraved. Please claim at the office.


Parents:

Parents of Grade 8's - Important reminder ensure the Claremont Course Selection form is in tomorrow. All course selection and specialized forms are due tomorrow ( Wednesday).  After this, students will need to get the forms up to Claremont themselves.

Grade 8 parents can book a 15 minute interview with a Claremont Counsellor today between 1 and 3:45. Please call 250-479-7128 local 459 between 9:30 and 10:30 pm to book an interview at Royal Oak Middle School. The purpose of this interview is to answer questions not addressed in the Course Selection package.
