Reminder to all home room classes to watch ROMS News today to get the full RO announcements and News stories during your advisory block.

A huge congratulations to the
Math Challengers participants who competed at the annual Camosun College competition.  A special mention to Anson P for finishing 2nd overall, Hans S 4th place overall, and Jackie J 6th place overall in the individual rounds.  Royal Oak also finished 2nd in the team round of the challenge with the team comprised of Emilie B, Elaine H, Jackie S, Jackie J, and Hans S.  They have also qualified to compete in the provincials being held on March 8th at UBC! Well done!

Grade 8 Students. Your
field trip permission notice is coming to you today. These are to be returned by tomorrow.

With the recent rain,
our grounds are very muddy.  Please do your best to stay out of the muddy areas so you do not track mud into our school.

Recycling. Students emptying the towers at the recycle stations are to ensure all items are sorted correctly.

Red & White day winners- congratulations to divisions M 6, 7-3, 7-1 and 8-3 for having the most Red & White clothing items on last Friday. Great school spirit RO!

There are
two important meetings for choir members today at morning recess 11:23 and at lunch time activity at 1:16.

Students who are interested in participating in the Red Cedar Reading Club, please come to the Learning Commons for an information meeting at Lunch Activity Time today.

The Learning Commons will have limited space during lunch activity time today.  If you are attending the Red Cedar meeting or need a computer to do homework, please be in the Learning Commons by 1:20.


Sports:

Anyone interested in playing rugby at ROMS, please meet in Mr. Stanchfield's room at 11:23 recess today.

Grade 6 rec volleyball at lunch on Tuesday. Come down and join the fun!

Grade 7 boys are playing at Central today.

Grade 8 boys are playing at home today. Come cheer them on!

Grade 6/7 girls team 1 is playing at Arbutus tomorrow.

Grade 6/7 girls teams 2 and 3 are playing at home tomorrow.

Come out and support the Gr. 8 Competitive Boys Volleyball Team today (Monday) after school when they host their final league matches against Bayside and Journey Middle Schools.

"There will be a very important meeting for all grade 7 girls competitive volleyball players at recess in Mr. Menzies room, 130. This will be to discuss rides to the game at Arbutus tomorrow after school."

Grade 8 Parents. The Claremont transition field trip permission form will be given out today. Please return it signed by tomorrow. Also - Claremont Counselors will be coming to RO on February 24 with course selection forms.

Handbags for Hope – Recycle your gently used handbags to raise money for pediatric cancer research.
We have a donation bin outside the office until Monday, February 24. Time to sort through your closet!
