Costume Parade – today at recess is the big costume parade. Come down to the gym and enter your costume to win a prize!

World Famous Pie Eating Contest! Yes the teacher pie eating contest is on today during lunch activity time. Come to the gym to cheer on the 12 brave teachers who have taken on this scary challenge.
There will be four gr 8 students selected to attempt to beat the teacher pie-eating time!  See you in the gym today!

Sports News:
Basketball practices have been cancelled today for Halloween.
--The 7/8 girls rec team
will have their practice on Friday, Nov. 1St at lunch.
--The 6/7 boys competitive basketball team has a home game today at 3:45. Come cheer them on!
--Grade 7/8 Boys Competitive team has a make up game against Bayside scheduled for Monday, November 4th at 3:45 at ROMS.
Reminder to the
grade 8 boys recreational basketball team to give their permission forms to Mr. Stanchfield, today.

Grade 6 Sectionalswill be Friday this week.

Halloween for Hunger –Tomorrow is the last day to bring in your non-perishable food items. We only have 400 pieces so far! Come on Royal Oak – Let's help feed the hungry!

Earthquake Food Preparedness - if you have not already done so, please send in your selected food item for your child's division. 

Help us raise money for Victoria Hospice and support our PE Dept. Head Angus Stewart and his wife Margaret as she battles cancer. Attend a benefit concert with James Gordon on Sunday, Nov 10 at St. Michael Anglican Church Hall at 4733 W. Saanich or please consider donating money to the hospice in Margaret's name. You’re invited to the Compost Education Centre’s 10th annual Pumpkin Smash!
Give your jack-o-lantern a proper burial! Join the Greater Victoria Compost Education Centre for post Halloween family fun and games, November 2nd and 3rd. Smash your pumpkins in our giant compost bin instead of sending them to the landfill! Intact edible pumpkins will be donated to local food banks. Saturday
