 Earthquake Preparedness - reminder to students to bring in the requested food provisions listed on the Web page.  Once items are collected, they can be brought to the office.

Tomorrow Royal Oak will be participating in the Province wide
"Shake out BC" Earthquake Drill.  Teachers, please go over the expectations for the drill.

Recycling:  Thank you for the recent improvements with sorting at the recycling stations.  Your efforts are making a difference!

Animation Club meets today at Lunch Activity Time, 1:16, in the blue computer lab.

 

Halloween for Hunger – We are running a food drive at Royal Oak from today until October 31st. Help support local families in need by bringing in cans and non-perishable items to your classroom. The hallway with the most cans and non-perishable items will win a prize!

Any
Youth in Action students who are going to WE DAY this Friday need to get their permission slips in to Mrs. Morgan or Mrs. Smyth today.  Please see us if you have not done this.

Congratulations to the
cross country team who ran in the Island Championships yesterday at Beaver Lake.  Every student ran their best and represented Royal Oak well.  Top results include first place to Ashley and Cole, as well as the grade 7 boys team, who finished 1st and 2nd.  There were many other top ten and top twenty finishes.  Congratulations!  You made Mr. Azim and Mrs. Smyth very proud.

The canteen will be open during 11:23 recess today.

All students interested in
playing recreation basketball have an important meeting on Thursday, Oct 17th at lunch 1:16 in the gym.


Parents:

Earthquake supplies - Please check to see what supplies your child's division is being asked to bring in for earthquake preparedness. This week we will be participating in the “Shake out BC” drill.

Recycling - we do not accept recycling items from your home here at R.O.  The district has to pay to have recycling items picked up.
