Students: This Friday, September 27th is a Non-Instructional Day (NID) - Students will not be in attendance as teachers will be partaking in Professional Development activities.

Care Kits:
 Monday is the last day to bring in your  Earthquake Comfort Care Kit.  You do not want to be caught without a kit in an emergency.  The class that gets 100% return of their Care Kits wins a prize. 

Terry Fox Run.  Tomorrow is the 33rd annual Terry Fox Run at our school.  Every Student and Adult are being asked to wear Red and White and make a $2 (or more) donation to the Terry Fox Foundation.  

The runs will take place in your PE or FAAS blocks.  We have just been notified that Thunder will be running as well.
Popcorn will be sold out of the canteen today during lunch activity at 1:16 for $1 a bag. Proceeds go to the Terry Fox Foundation.

The Compost bucket drop off was 95% correct yesterday.  This was a big improvement.   Remember no plastic in the compost buckets except biodegradable compost bags. 

Meet The Teacher Night is TOMORROWnight. This is an opportunity for you to show your parents your classroom and introduce them to your teachers. See you at 7 pm pm on Thursday!

Ms. Savage's block 2 drama class will meet today in her classroom Rm 223.

The venue for the
X-Country meet scheduled for today (September 25) HAS BEEN CHANGED to the CedarHill Recreation Centre.  All cross country runners who are running in the race at Cedar Hill golf course today need to get out of block 4 today at 2:45 in order to make it to your race.  Please sign out at in the foyer outside the office with Ms. Smyth BEFORE you leave, and pick up a jersey.  If you do need a ride to the race today or have extra seats in your car, please see Mr. Azim in his room at recess today.


Grade 6 Band Sectionals will be every Wednesday and Thursday starting this week.
Today is Flutes and Thursday is Clarinets. Bring your instrument to the bandroom at 1:16 during lunch activity time.

Animation Club meets today at 1:16 during Lunch Activity in the blue computer lab.

Soccer intramurals today will be 6-1 vs. 6-3 and  M-4 vs. 7-1. Please be in gym strip.

Any students wishing to join
swim club, please pick up registration forms by the PE office. They are due back to Ms. Robson by October 8th.

Reminder to
youth in action your assignment is due to Ms. Morgan or Mrs Smith by Tomorrow.

Lost: Green Ipod was lost yesterday near Ms. Kardash's Room # 123. Please turn into the office if you find it.
Lost and Found - Please check for any lost items.  All items will be cleared away on Friday. 

Parents:

Help: Looking for a Videographer to help put together a short "Recycling Video"  as an educational tool.

Looking for a parent with construction skills that could frame and put wheels on two air hockey tables.

Reminder of our Terry Fox Run tomorrow.  Wear Red and White and make a $2+ donation.  Let's keep Terry's dream alive. 

 

We are a garbage free school.  Remember to send all snack and lunch items in reusable containers. Many are doing really well with this. 

 

Greenlea Drive behind the school is the best place to drop off and pick up your child.

th - Meet the Teacher night:  Parking will be very limited.  With the rain, will likely not be able to open the back field for parking.  You could park:   a) Church parking lot  b) Greenlea Dr  c) Viewmont  d) SIDES - but have to walk around to W Saanich, e) Shawnee Rd  or f)  Paskin Way.  Please plan ahead, and car pool or ride your bike if possible.    Thanks.

Lost and found - please come on in a look for your child's missing clothing items – all clothing removed on Friday.

Friday is a Non-Instructional day- thus no school in session.  This is a good weekend to have the gym strip come home for a fresh cleaning and be returned on Monday.
