Pink day is coming your way on Feb 27th.  Everyone is asked to wear as much Pink as you can (scarves, necklaces, socks, bracelets, earrings etc.) we want to send the message that we accept everyone for who they are, regardless of our size, shape, skin colour or ethnic background. We are all people needing to be accepted. Pink T shirts are on sale at lunch for $10 each.

Grade 8 Students: Claremont's "Key Club" is putting on a Movie Night for Grade 8 & 9 students on Thursday February 28th.  The viewing will be the Pixar movie "Up". Seating is limited. Refreshments will be served and entrance is by donation.  The movie starts at 4 pm.   Mr. Bergeron will come to classes with further details.

grade 8 Field Trip permission forms to Claremont should be handed in  today.  The trip in on Feb 28th. 

Today is the DPA deadline. All students need to have their DPA's completed todayif they want the mark reflected on their report card.

Library computers - reminder to students that the computers in the library are for school based work only.  Games or gaming activities on these computers is not allowed.

Reminder to
not crowd hallways when at lockers.  We need to leave a pass-through lane so others can get through while you are at your lockers.

Morning routine reminders.  Three options 1)  In your classroom with teacher  2)  In the library  3)  At a club or team event. If you not at one of these events, you must be outside. Dress for the weather.

The 7/8 girls recreation volleyball team played two great games yesterday. They won against SMS and fought a hard battle against Shoreline, losing by only a couple points. Well done girls!

A final meeting for all those who are intending to
travel to France during next year's spring break will be held today after the lunch hour advisory. Please meet in Mme Espedido's room, and please bring 'un stylo'!

There will be a
Math Challengers meeting at lunchtime today in Room 131, Mrs. Robson's room.

The Yearbook Photo Club is having a Pizza Party in the library this Friday after school from 3:15 to 4:30. Please let Ms. Cottier in the library know that you are coming so we can make sure we get enough pizza.

Musical Theatre: Dance auditions will be on Monday and Tuesday during lunch in the drama room with Mrs Savage.
Singing and Acting auditions will be on Monday and Tuesday during lunch in the band room with Mr. Ziegler

Grade 8s – It's time to prepare for your Grade 8 Farewell. Ask you parents if they would be interested in helping and they can email our PAC president for details.

  2. Grade 8 parents:  you should have seen a blue permission form for going up to Claremont for an orientation session.  Please return the form with your child.  The forms are also available on the school web page. 

  3. Term two is quickly coming to a close.  Please check with your child and your child's teachers to ensure all assignments are up to date.  

  4. We held our annual Lockdown drill on Monday.  Sannich Police were most impressed with the cooperation and serious manner of  our students.  Well done Royal Oak!!

  5. Attention Parents! You and your family are invited to Claremont High School to attend a night of fun, family entertainment! Claremont Spartansvs the Saanich Police Department on Tuesday, February 26th at 7:00pm @ Claremont. Join the community for Claremont's Charity Basketball Game as we raise money for Jeneece Place. There will be a BBQ dinner, refreshments, music, prizes, a half-time show (including a children's BBall game) and lots of fun! Doors open at 6:30pm.
