Pink Acceptance Day is coming soon!  Yes Feb 27th is the day we all will wear PINK in a solidarity movement that we all can help make difference.  Six years ago two young men in Nova Scotia stood up for their peer and said it was NOT OK to make fun of someone for being different. Pink T shirts go on sale today at lunch in the front entrance for $10. See the display of shirts in the trophy display case - Supplies are limited.   See you in PINK on the 27th!  


All
grade 8 Field Trip permission forms to Claremont should be handed in by today.  The trip in on Feb 28th. 

The gr. 6/7 Rec Girls Volleyball Team played six games last night against Gordon Head, St Patrick's and St. Andrews Middle Schools.  The girls won 3 games with strong serving and aggressive play.  Well Done Girls!

The
7/8 girls recreation volleyball team has an AWAY game today at St. Margaret's School at 3:45. There will be an important meeting and short practice today at lunch recess in the gym.

All Rowing Team members have a meeting at 11:23 recess in the gym today.  See Mr. Stewart if you cannot attend.

There will be a very important math challengers meeting today at 1:20 in Room 131, Mrs. Robson's room.  It is important that everyone attend.

The newspaper club has a meeting today during lunch activity.



Athletic Leadership students have a meeting at 8:15am in the Home Ec Room on Thursday.

A final meeting for all those who are intending to travel to France during next year's spring break will be held on THURSDAY after the lunch hour advisory. Please meet in Mme Espedido's room, and please bring 'un stylo'!

The Yearbook Photo Club is having a Pizza Party in the library this Friday after school from 3:15 to 4:30. Please let Ms. Cottier in the library know that you are coming so we can make sure we get enough pizza for supper.


Grade 8s – It's time to prepare for your Grade 8 Farewell. Ask you parents if they would be interested in helping and they can email our PAC president for details.

  1. Grade 8 Parent(s): ROMS is looking for parents who would be interested in organizing the Grade 8 Farewell, held at the end of June. If you are interested and would like to have fun & help your child (and all grade 8s) have a memorable evening, contact the PAC President, Brenda Chan, at romspacpresident@gmail.com All skills needed!

  2. Grade 8 parents:  you should have seen a blue permission form for going up to Claremont for an orientation session.  Please return the form with your child.  The forms are also available on the school web page. 

  3. Term two is quickly coming to a close.  Please check with your child and your child's teachers to ensure all assignments are up to date.  

  4. We held our annual Lockdown drill on Monday.  Sannich Police were most impressed with the cooperation and serious manner of  our students.  Well done Royal Oak!!

  5. Attention Parents! You and your family are invited to attend a night of fun, family entertainment at Claremont Secondary. Claremont Spartans vs the Saanich Police Department on Tuesday, February 26th at 7:00pm at Claremont. Join the community for Claremont's Charity Basketball Game as we raise money for Jeneece Place. There will be a BBQ dinner, refreshments, music, prizes, a half-time show (including a children's BBall game) and lots of fun! Doors open at 6:30pm.
